Spine: Large vertical crack throughout. Sticker listing “Original Book of Mormon 1830” broken in half along vertical crack. Gilded ribbing faded but dark lining visible. Spine Lettering and Label: Brown Label, or faded as block title visible without black ribbon background. Cover: Various marbling throughout. Slight cracking near spine edge. Binding: Library sticker listing James B Shearer 2/6 in front pastedown. Back cover listing newspaper clipping from Kalamazoo MI regarding copies of the Book of Mormon. Title Page: Present and intact. Inscription of Jas Shearer Detroit 1854 in upper right corner in ink. University of Michigan embossment in lower right corner. Triangular cockling on all four corners. Text: Full text, no details recorded. Inscription: Inscription on front pastedown covered by library bookplate sticker.
